Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping + Pick Up
Since everything is made to order, your items are created after you place your order—fabric is accounted for, zippers are measured, and pieces are cut just for you. Regular turnaround is 6–8 weeks for in-stock fabrics, though I typically work faster and get orders out ahead of schedule. If you need your order rushed, reach out to ask about a rush fee.
Once a month, I hold a print pre-order exclusively for email insiders. This collection features custom prints on fabrics that are printed overseas, so turnaround can be longer for these items. Join the email list to get access!
At this time, I only ship within Canada and do not ship to the US or internationally.
Within Canada, orders take approximately 3–9 business days to arrive after processing. In some cases, orders within the prairies may arrive next day, but this depends on the courier used. Since I handle all shipping myself from rural Saskatchewan, delivery times can vary depending on order volume and distance from my location. Occasionally, unexpected delays can occur due to weather, courier pickups, drop-offs, or road conditions.
Within Canada:
Standard shipping – Orders under $200 (before tax): 3–9 business days; flat rate $20 shipping, includes tracking
Standard shipping – Orders over $200 (before tax): 3–9 business days; FREE shipping, includes tracking
Yes, additional orders can be combined! There is a small combine fee, but it’s much cheaper than paying for separate shipping—perfect for grabbing that item you forgot. Just be sure to email me about your additional order, as it’s not my responsibility to track down other outstanding orders. If your original order has already been fulfilled before I’m notified, the additional order will need to be shipped separately at the purchaser’s expense.
Sometimes carriers send delivery notifications before the item is actually delivered—that may be the case for you. But if it still hasn’t arrived after that, reach out to me at info@bearandroo.ca or start a chat, and I’ll begin a claim with the shipping carrier.
I use multiple carriers chosen to get your order to you as quickly and efficiently as possible! As of 2026, I mainly ship with Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, and Canpar. If you provide a PO Box as your shipping address, your order will need to be sent via Canada Post.
At checkout, simply select Local Pickup as your delivery method—that's it! Once you place your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email first, followed by a second email letting you know when your order is ready for pickup, along with further instructions.
Please only come to pick up your order after you've received the “ready for pickup” email, and be sure to reply to that email so I can arrange a pickup time. Pickup is available Monday to Thursday, 8am–5pm. Fridays are reserved for courier shipments, so local pickups aren’t scheduled that day.
Fit & Sizing
I know shopping online can be tricky, so I’m here to help! The best place to start is taking your own measurements—this makes using the size chart so much easier and more accurate than guessing based on your usual size.
Head to our Find Your Fit page at checkout for easy measuring tips and guidance.
While I don’t have a dedicated petite line, I’m happy to work with you! Many customers have had lengths shortened or shoulder seams taken in to better suit a petite figure. Just reach out and we can chat about custom adjustments.
Yes! All of my styles are available up to size 3X.
Yes! Since everything is made to order, you’re not limited to standard lengths. Pants come in three inseam options, with the ability to customize for a few extra (or fewer) inches. Tops can also have length added for taller frames. Whatever your height, we can work together to get the perfect fit.
As a baseline, pants are offered in three inseam lengths—petite, regular, and tall. But since everything is made to order, these are just a starting point! If your inseam falls outside these options, no problem—I can customize the length to fit you perfectly.
Pro tip: Measure your inseam to your ankle bone, not the floor—this gives the most accurate length for your fit.
Returns & Exchanges
Because every item is made to order just for you, all sales are final. This is exactly why measuring carefully and reaching out for help with sizing beforehand is so important—I'm always happy to help you get it right before your order is made!
If something doesn’t end up working out, I also run a Buy/Sell/Trade page on Facebook, where customers love finding new homes for previously loved pieces or items that just didn’t fit quite right.
Fabric & Care Details
About 90% of my products can be safely machine washed on a cold cycle. After washing, I recommend hanging or laying items flat to dry—this helps maintain the quality and longevity of your clothing.
Please note that some of my luxury drops, such as wool pieces, occasionally require special care like hand washing. Be sure to check the care instructions on the individual product page or the garment’s care label.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about washing and drying your Bear and Roo clothing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to.
My care labels recommend machine washing on cold and laying flat to dry. That said, we understand air drying isn’t always convenient, and our fabrics do hold up well in the dryer if needed.
However, dryers can accelerate wear on fabric fibres compared to air drying. For that reason, I recommend air drying when possible—it helps extend the life of your garments (and it’s better for the planet too!).
